What I Already Did for The Hills

1. Advocated for Lighting Rods
Even before deciding to contest for elections, I took action to make our community safer and more vibrant. A week after moving into The Hills, I was jolted awake by the sound of a house fire caused by a lightning strike. That experience sparked my advocacy for installing lightning rods in our community. I rallied our neighbors, and as a result, over 20 homes installed lightning rods, securing a group discount in the process. This initiative has made our community safer from the dangers of lightning strikes.

2. Advocated for a Farmers Market
Another significant effort I undertook was advocating for a farmers market in The Hills. I connected with a vendor and facilitated meetings between the vendor, city management, and council members to discuss the feasibility of starting a market. Unfortunately, due to limitations imposed by the city government, the plan couldn't move forward. However, I’ve made a promise to myself that once I join the council, I will push to make this market a reality.

3. Promoted Cultural Diversity
In addition to these efforts, I worked to bring cultural diversity to our community. I successfully got the city government to recognize the Indian festival Diwali, bringing a new cultural flavor to The Hills. I did the same with our local school, which not only began recognizing Diwali but also made it a priority to acknowledge festivals from different cultures that represent the students. My wife, Aditi, gave a presentation to the kids about Diwali last year and will continue this tradition again this year.

4. Advocated for Increased School Security
Security is also a top priority for me, especially when it comes to our children. I advocated to the principal of Lakeway Elementary about the need for increased security at the school, ensuring that our kids are safe and secure at all times.

5. Vocal Community Advocate
Throughout my time in The Hills, I have always been vocal about the issues affecting our community. I have ensured that my voice, and the voices of others, are heard, rallying for change. Whether I become mayor or not, I will continue to advocate for our community and strive to make The Hills an even better place to live.

What I Will Do for Our City

As your representative, my commitment is to ensure that our city thrives as a place where everyone feels heard, safe, and valued. Here's what I plan to focus on:

1. Protecting Our Community’s Character
I will work closely with the POA to ensure that the voice of our city is heard and respected. I will stand firm against developments that threaten the unique character of our community, including opposing the new condo development that many of you have expressed concerns about. My priority is to preserve the charm and identity that make our city special.

2. Enhancing Safety and Security
Safety is a top priority. I will work to address the issue of speeding vehicles, ensuring stricter enforcement of speed limits to protect our streets. Additionally, I will advocate for increased security presence throughout our city to ensure that all residents feel safe in their homes and neighborhoods.

3. Reducing Financial Burdens
I understand the financial pressures many residents face. I will fight to reduce property taxes, providing much-needed relief to our homeowners. I also support the elimination or restructuring of mandatory club membership dues for those who don’t utilize the facilities.

4. The Hills Future Innovators Program
I propose an annual Business Pitch Competition for high school and college students, judged by local entrepreneurs who will also provide mentorship. The 1st prize includes a $10,000 investment, while younger children can participate in entrepreneurial activities like lemonade stands, with awards for their achievements. This program will nurture our youth's entrepreneurial spirit and celebrate The Hills’ unique culture of innovation.

5. Enhancing Technology and Resident Engagement
I plan to update the city’s technology by making the website more user-friendly and improving all digital touchpoints for easier access to city services. These upgrades will ensure better communication and engagement with our residents.

6. Strengthening Our POA
Even though the POA staff doesn't come directly under the city's authority, we will ensure to offer any help required. Our POA staff is dedicated, but they need more support to serve our community effectively. I will work to ensure they are adequately staffed and equipped to handle all of your needs in a timely and efficient manner.

7. Creating a Family-Friendly Environment
I will advocate for more events and activities that cater to young families, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community where families can connect, engage, and thrive.

8. Ensuring Transparent and Collaborative Governance
My motto is "No Closed Doors, Just Open Conversation," which is also my campaign slogan. I believe in a government that is transparent and community-driven. I will work to ensure clear alignment between our POA and city government, with decisions made openly and with community input.

9. Advocating for Responsible Development
While growth is important, it must be managed responsibly. I will ensure that any new developments are in line with our community’s needs and values, without compromising the quality of life we all cherish.

10. Listening to Your Concerns
My approach is simple: listen first, act second. I will always be available to hear your concerns and will work tirelessly to address them. Your voice will be the driving force behind my decisions.

Together, we can make our city an even better place to live. I am committed to working with each and every one of you to build a future that we can all be proud of.
